Map of old farmhouses on rustic land in Spain

Where a new house on rustic land is not allowed, restoring one that already stands is often the legal route. Catastro records 711,476 homes on rustic plots, 95,336 of them built before 1950.
What it shows, and what it does not
- Each point is a building on a rustic plot: a home, a farm building (barn, store, stable) or a ruin, with its year and floor area.
- Being in Catastro does not make a building legal: it needs a licence, or to predate the need for one.
- It does not cover the Basque Country or Navarra, which keep their own cadastres.
